Even the nearby Kapro (israel) is also ok...pros for the starret is a thicker metal versus the kapro but both have sharp edges needing a deburring tool but i guess the sharp corners also add to the squareness all around. Either you de burr this or leave it as is.

I like the burrs. I use it for scraping my sole. :lolno:

Picked up a couple of items from the post office. Vacuum brush for the dust shoe

And the quick-connects for the spindle

I only got 1 meter thinking it will be enough for 2 shoes... I was wrong.

I need to cut grooves on opposite sides of a round stock. First problem I must solve is how to ensure that the groove is aligned with the center of the stock.

So I cut this holder. The coordinates of the holder's center line is therefore known.

The center line of any round object placed on it will have the same coordinates.

Clamped it down, dialed the Z axis, and cut the groove.

2nd problem is ensuring that the next groove is 180 degrees from the first one.

Another holder, with a tongue that matches the groove on the round stock

Fits the first groove perfectly

Same procedure as on the other side. Clamp, zero, cut.

The move upstairs is an opportunity to add the still missing parts of the CNC. Particularly the E-Stop button.

Mounted it on one corner so it can be accessed from the front and side.

I was really proud of my idea... until I tested the axis limits.
