First time to use a 1/8" down-cut bit on the cnc...
Image
cuts came out better than impressive imo.
Image
was running at 100ipm (inches per minute), doc (depth of cut) 0.0625", and the bit is a 0.125" downcut spiral bit.
Image
resulting work caame clean with very little sanding needed. Mostly due to the material and not the cut.

I made a collet holder as I find it annoying to remove each piece from its box whenever I need it and the put it back after I am done...

Now all I do is open and reach for the bit whenever I need a certain size...

My bad, I had rechecked my billing and it comes out to about $350 landed... Using DHL instead of fedex it arrived without hassle. AVOID FEDEX at all cost!!!

Two days ago I started making a fogless coolant system for my cnc that I can use whenever I mill aluminum.
Image
Today I call it complete. Initially I wanted a water filter container to house my coolant (I will be using mineral oil) but the containers are so big and I do not really need to spend so much for it. So I decided to try a coke bottle and it worked fine but was still too big. I now use a calamansi concentrate bottle for the coolant :wtf:
Image
It was the perfect size that I wanted and is free... I also made a mount for it and is located on the left side of the cnc.
Image
the lines are 4mm o.d with a 2mm i.d.. these seem to be the prefect size since I wouldn't be needing high cfm output. Also gotten several inline regulators to control the air and coolant speeds.
Image
then it all exits beside the spindle with a bracket made of aluminum.
Image
I can control manually the amount of coolant and/or air individually and works perfect....

Still not the perfect finish out of the cnc but with a little sanding and it comes out nice.

I would be cutting the threads for it tomorrow.....

I am making stands for Harbeth SHL5plus again this time it will go to the (Cebu) distributor for display. On the cnc I made some name plates out of 1/8' thick brass.
