Bicycle Thread

Had to find a simple transport from my shop to the court and I decided to build myself a mountain bike again.
The first thing I bought was a frame

which I already ditched. Have choosen a different make and model that I would purchase soon.
What I have now are the wheels and tires.... Crank Brothers Cobalt One wheelset and Panaracer tires.

Then today I purchased the groupset (paid a bit more than I needed to... Haaay)... Got 2015 Shimano XT and am quite happy.

And since father's day naman ngayon.... We had a good dinner at home...

Naku sinabi mo pa doc. Back in 2010 I sold my well loved and almost perfectly tuned mtb na naka deore lang din. Used the money to get me the Makita 2012nb thicknesser... I miss my bike but I think it was a good trade off since the thicknesser did help me a lot.

Ayaw ko folding, maliit wheels and hard to go over obstacles like sidewalks :shifty: . Mountain bikes kasi seems to be perfect for our bad roads which has lots of cracks and potholes.
Scooter is handy and faster, unfortunately is also something which I think is more hazardous than a bike.
Bikes offer exercise which is good for me rin...

Wow, didn't know bikes' wheels now come with so few spokes. Must be made of something so tough.

Last time I assmebled a bike was in late 80's. It was a racer (now called roadbike) chromoly batalya, shimano groupo and brakeset, a whopping 10-speed (whopping then). At that time, couldn't afford the biopace plato (non-circular) nor thumbshifters as these were state of the art then. Dreambikes then were Campagnolos. Wonder what the bike world is now.
I'd rather add life to my years than years to my life.

In this time of electric bikes and folding bikes, i still prefer the ride feel of all terrain MTB..

Btw, i bought myself a Doppelganger japanese folding bike last year pero dko pa nagagamit .

Kung wala lng akong MTB, bka nagaya na din ako kay Timb!

Btw timb, anung fork ba naiisip mo? Wala nko idea kung me upgrade pa sa Rockshox.

I recalled way back in the 90's, i lost a new Tange suspension fork from a house burglar, medyo bihira pa nun suspension forks, lalot oversized.

I assemble mo na yan!!!

@Ding,

Campagnolos are still expensive bro...but oveetook by many brands because of Technology in mabufacturing...like Niner to name a few.

Naku doc, baka yung fork ang maging let down sa bike ko. I want a fox pero might have to settle for Suntour Epixon. Maganda na raw ang technology ng suntour since sila ang oem ng maraming brandnames na sikat like marzocchi.
Di ko pa mabuo since I only allotted 40k for it and ubos na yung budget for what I got :shifty:
Huhuhu....
