Yes there is a local alternative. Permatex rust treatment. Bought mine at handyman rob place ermita. 500 bucks, 30% off. Hth.

Edit: there is the wipe on variety, there is the rattle can one. It is d wipe on dat i have tried.

Sa gun store meron nyan..

Pwede ring alternative..heat the steel using blow torch pag nag bluish color na ang steel soak mo sa oil (motor oil) result nyan black finish..

Saan ba gagamitin?

Har..har..pwede rin namang i brush yung oil sa metal..i prefer soaking lang kasi para mas ma absorb ng bakal ang langis..i do this not for appearance but to prevent the metal from rusting..

I've been seeing Jimmy Diresta videos and he's using the blackener as finish for steel frames.
