Broken Makita 2012NB

Changed the chain and the tension spring. The clicking softened but still there. Here’s a video of the chan and the spring. Note the spring snaps occasionally which causes the clicking. Any idea what else I should try?

Am no expert, but is it really the spring? Is the clicking in even, predictable intervals?
What if we test run the machine without a chain driving the rollers and if it clicks, it must be coming from somewhere...

Fwiw, Am diagnosing an overheating car(80% of the gauge) and i feel the challenge of hunting down the real culprit.

Ran it without chain and no clicking. So, I guess, it clicks when there’s “load”.

He-he. Maraming salamat, Sonny.

Everyone, I sent my clicking thickness planer to Sonny. He did his magic and it’s ok now. Just like any magician, though, he would not reveal his tricks!

I did a check up and cleaned up the internals... there was a bent piece but was easily corrected but was not the cause of the issue but was a result of the problem.

I had to remove the top cover and upon inspection saw that most parts also needed lubrication.

I thought that I could adjust the upper drive spindle out but only ended cleaning it, it wasn't adjustable. But you can clearly see the chain is running out of alignment.
Image
The main issue is from this chain mechanism... being out of timing....

Note: I did not touch the blade assembly. But you need to clean them too every once in a while.

Suggestions in using the 2012nb:
Make light passes lang and not overfeed. This is a lunch box planner and cannot really handle the stresses of heavy cuts like the bigger machines.
Lube the posts and threads to avoid binding
Sand or maintain the infeed and outfeed beds to non binding condition... if the wood will not slide, it will cause some burn on the wood and stress on the feed rollers.

So, cleaning lang ba ang problem?

I guess my annual cleaning is insufficient. I never opened the top cover before. Pure posts lang ang nililinis ko with the occasional spraying of dry lube.
