Unread post #1 by J03L » Tue Aug 04, 2015 5:02 pm

Dahil lagi na lang brownout sa amin. Me & my Wife plan to have our own Off Grid System.

Things I have already:
Charge Controller
Volt Meter for the Battery
Some Wires

Things to buy:
1 unit - 200Ah Battery
1 unit - 1500W Inverter
3 units - 100W Solar Panel

OT: Surprisingly, i have a 650 cfm dust collector with a 1/2hp direct drive motor and is already rated best buy..how much more yung 1HP nila na you can hook two or 3 machines versus a 1200watts noisy vacuum cleaner.

Subscribed ako dito..kahit mga ilaw lng, malaking bagay na pag brown out!
I think i was a woodworker in my previous life...and the life previous to that.

What solar panels and deep cycle battery are you getting?

Sorry, I'm no expert, too. Just curious what you'd be using in case I did the same for my workshop.

FYI, in our Used Water plant, we installed solar panels on the roof so we now generate about 20% to 30% of the plant's power requirement. We will recover the investment in a few years from power savings.

But we found it not feasible to use batteries as they add to the CapEx and maintenance cost. Instead, we have an inverter with an automatically transfer switch into grid power when sunlight is low.

Actually a deep cycle battery will last many years as long as di mo lang sya i totally drain. For a car battery dapat 50% lang ang discharge while in a deep cycle battery kaya pwede 20%. Yung sa friend ko many times na totally drain deep cycle battery nya still working now. (3 years na yung battery)

Pwde rin naman wala nang battery pero sayang din yung sobrang power from the panel kung di mo magamit. Kaya better lagay ng battery para ma save yung excess power from the panel. Magagamit mo pa sa gabi hehehe
