TUTORIAL: How to post pictures/images

TUTORIAL: How to post pictures/images

Unread post #1 by jarod » Mon Mar 05, 2012 1:51 pm

A simple way of attaching images for a more meaningful and/or helpful post.

It is assumed that you already have a link of the picture. Otherwise, you could upload pictures on photo-sharing sites in the internet like TinyPic or ImageShack as they are free and no account creation is needed. Others like Flickr and PhotoBucket also ok especially when you want to compile all the pictures you want in one place.

If not, you may visit the "TUTORIAL: How to upload pictures in PhotoBucket" thread for help.

Steps:
1) Click on the "Img" button among the rows of button above the text editor.
2) A new text will appear such as
Code: Select all
[img][/img]

3) In between the "]" and "[", enter the link or address of the picture/image that you want to post.
4) Click on "Preview" button to check if you have successfully added an image to your post and to check for any errors.
5) Click on "Submit" after to post your image

This is what I do:
1. In photobucket (or your favorite photo sharing site), right-click on the image. Select "Copy image address" (this is in google chrome, your browser might display a different text).
2. paste the image address into the post I'm composing.
3. double-click on the pasted text (to select the image address)
4. click on the "insert image" icon. This will add the "" tags.
5. Final step is to preview or submit.

That's it!

For pic sharing, I find tinypic.com easier to use, you have the option of resizing the photo upon uploading.

Resize before uploading:

Copy and paste the image code.
